PRELICENSURE
We receive many requests for information relating to whether our courses fulfill prelicensure requirements in CA, either for prelicensure candidates or clinicians transferring from another state. For your convenience we have copied the most recent info from the CA state pages for LCSWs and MFTs or provided our Board of Psychology communications for psychologists to clarify these issues. If a class is acceptable from an approved continuing ed provider, then, our courses will work. We have highlighted these courses and included links for the courses we provide.

Next to each course is
the length the course must be to meet our
requirements. Next information I have listed the reason why the course
would be acceptable towards prelicensure. You will just need to make sure
that the course you offer is at least the amount of hours required for each
course and that the course content complies with each of the regulations.
You may review that information in the Laws and Regulations booklet on our
website at www.psychboard.ca.gov.
Please start by reviewing section 1382
of the California Code of Regulations.
The substance abuse course you offer would not qualify towards licensure
since that course must be a 15 hour graduate level course taken from an
accredited or approved academic institution.
Please contact me if you have any further questions. Thanks.
